In order to facilitate market liquidity and enhance trading opportunities, after reviewing our users’ suggestions collected from different channels, we are pleased to announce the addition of bi-quarterly contracts on OKEx Futures and Options markets. Details as follows:
A. Futures
1. On Feb 28, 2020
Contracts expired on that day (0228 contracts) will be delivered. Contracts to be expired on Mar 13, 2020 (0313 contracts) and Jun 26, 2020 (0626 contracts) will be generated. The contracts to be available on the futures market on that day are:
a) Weekly: Contracts to be expired on Mar 6, 2020 (0306 contracts)
b) Bi-weekly: Contracts to be expired on Mar 13, 2020 (0313 contracts)
c) Quarterly: Contracts to be expired on Mar 27, 2020 (0327 contracts)
d) Bi-quarterly: Contracts to be expired on Jun 26, 2020 (0626 contracts)
To control market risks, the maximum amount of bi-quarterly futures contracts of each cryptocurrency that a user can hold is limited by the maximum amount of contracts of tier 5. The details are shown below (unit: contract). The limit will be adjusted depending on market liquidity in the future.

2. New bi-quarterly contracts
New bi-quarterly contracts will be generated 2 weeks before the quarterly contracts expire, i.e. when the quarterly contracts become bi-weekly contracts. For example, a contract with an expiry date of Sep 25, 2020, will be generated at 08:00 Mar 13, 2020 (UTC). The contracts to be available on the futures market on that day are:
a) Weekly: Contracts to be expired on Mar 20, 2020 (0320 contracts)
b) Bi-weekly: Contracts to be expired on Mar 27, 2020 (0327 contracts)
c) Quarterly: Contracts to be expired on Jun 26, 2020 (0626 contracts)
d) Bi-quarterly: Contracts to be expired on Sep 25, 2020 (0925 contracts)
3. We will launch the minimum contract limit for USDT-margined futures at 7:00 on Feb 28, 2020 (UTC).
a. For 0306 and 0327 contracts, the order size must be an integer multiplier of that asset’s minimum contract limit. Closing positions is not affected.
b. For new 0313 and 0626 contracts, the order size must be an integer multiplier of that asset’s minimum contract limit when opening or closing positions.
c. If you set an order size in the unit of the asset (e.g. BTC / LTC / ETH), the system will automatically calculate your order size in the unit of contracts to determine whether your order meets the min. order limit.

B. Options
1. On Feb 28, 2020
Contracts expired on that day (20200228 contracts) will be delivered. Contracts to be expired on Mar 13, 2020 (20200313 contracts) and Jun 26, 2020 (20200626 contracts) will be generated. The contracts to be available on the options market on that day are:
a) Contracts to be expired on Mar 6, 2020 (20200306 contracts)
b) Contracts to be expired on Mar 13, 2020 (20200313 contracts)
c) Contracts to be expired on Mar 27, 2020 (20200327 contracts)
d) Contracts to be expired on Jun 26, 2020 (20200626 contracts)
2. New bi-quarterly contracts
New bi-quarterly contracts will be generated 2 weeks before the quarterly contracts expire. For example, a contract with an expiry date of Sep 25, 2020, will be generated at 08:00 Mar 13, 2020 (UTC). The contracts to be available on the futures market on that day are:
a) Contracts to be expired on Mar 20, 2020 (20200320 contracts)
b) Contracts to be expired on Mar 27, 2020 (02020327 contracts)
c) Contracts to be expired on Jun 26, 2020 (20200626 contracts)
d) Contracts to be expired on Sep 25, 2020 (20200925 contracts)
3. We will offer daily and monthly options contracts at a later time according to market demand. Stay tuned!
